CHURCH VISION
To be a growing church who loves God, loves each other and invite others to experience God’s love.
CHURCH MISSION
It is our mission to discover, pursue and develop a life long relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to foster committed relationships with fellow believers. It is also our endeavor to impact our community by proclaiming God’s good news. We believe that by the power of the Holy Spirit, lives will be changed bringing glory and honor to God.
CHURCH HISTORY
Birthed from the idea of Rev William J. Peck, the pastor of the Union Evangelical Church of Corona, to establish a sister fellowship on the north side of Corona, Leverich Memorial Church became a reality on Sunday May 31, 1908. We started with just a basement and by the end of April, in 1915, the new church which was built atop the basement church was not only completed, but fully paid for. On Sunday afternoon, May 9, 1915, the new building was dedicated as the Leverich Memorial Church, fully furnished by the members of the church.
Leverich Memorial Church is integrated, both in race and religious denomination.
As the years have gone by, Leverich Memorial Church has had a succession of pastors and under their care Leverich grew and survived the depression, World War II, and the shift of many of our neighbors and friends to the suburbs and distant parts of the country during the post-war years.
Throughout the years Leverich Memorial Church has sought to meet the needs of the community.
There has always been a special emphasis on its ministry to youth as shown through the many programs offered over the years, an award winning basketball team and the current Life Choices Youth Ministry.
And the women of the church have always been active in supporting the work carried out in the community. The women continue to meet and reach out to the community as a part of The Women’s Fellowship of Leverich and to grow in their faith in the Women’s Bible Study.
